Life on the Alps
Many people imagine life on the Alpe to be very romantic. But what looks like an idyllic landscape is actually the result of a lot of hard work. During the short mountain summer, the alpine herdsmen and women take care of the animals, pastures and the production of cheese and other products. There is often little time for this: the alp season usually only lasts around 100 days. Everything has to be done in this short time. This is how the cultivated landscape in which we marmots live is created.
