Watch out, enemies!
Unfortunately, we marmots are not only surrounded by peaceful neighbours. Some of our animal fellow inhabitants make our lives quite difficult. The golden eagle is our greatest enemy; it can see us from up to three kilometres away and then sneaks up on us silently. It becomes particularly dangerous for us when it circles high in the sky. But eagles are not the only danger. Ravens also like to steal our young, who are still inexperienced. Foxes sneaking through the meadows can also be a threat. That's why we have to stay alert and be quick. Fortunately, we also have peaceful neighbours, such as deers and chamois. These animals are vegetarians and share the colourful flower meadows with us, because just like us, they need to build up fat reserves for the winter.
