Alpine Water Festival
Water shapes the Klostertal – scenically, culturally, and emotionally. At the Alpine Water Festival, this element takes center stage: as a sensory experience in nature, as a responsible source of energy, as a quiet luxury in culinary enjoyment, and as a unifying force for families and generations. Four pillars underpin the program – Water.EXPERIENCE, Water.KNOWLEDGE, Water.ENJOYMENT, and Water.FAMILY – and invite you to rediscover your own connection to water. Authentic, mindful, and communal.
- During the festival weekend, everything revolves around the many facets of water. Across the four thematic pillars, a diverse program awaits you – ranging from small moments of discovery to special experiences for all ages.
- Each thematic world offers its own events and activities that make the element of water visible, tangible, and experiential in different ways.

Water.EXPERIENCE
Water.EXPERIENCE
Water is all around us here: as crystal-clear mountain lakes, rushing streams, or fine mist at waterfalls. It accompanies hikes, conversations, and quiet moments.
But water can also be experienced in motion. Whether high up in the alpine mountain or in the valley.
This is how an element becomes an experience—a pause, a breath of fresh air, a connection. With nature. With the place. With yourself.

Water.KNOWLEDGE
Water.KNOWLEDGE
Water is movement, change, and energy. Anyone walking through the valley can feel the power with which streams carve their way through the landscape and springs have been bubbling up from the ground for centuries.
The offerings in this area are aimed at people who understand this element as a living source of energy—and who also want to think about how to use it sustainably.

Water.ENJOYMENT
Water.ENJOYMENT
Events, that trigger all our senses.
Water and enjoyment go hand in hand in the Klostertal valley: whether in the kitchen, when eating together on the riverbank, or in conversation with producers. Here, enjoyment arises from the interplay of landscape, craftsmanship, and hospitality. Regional, authentic, refreshingly different.

A review
A Look Back at the First Alpine Water Festival in 2026
For four days, the Klostertal valley was all about water.
About 20 program activities in the thematic areas of Water.EXPERIENCE, Water.POWER, Water.ENJOYMENT, and Water.FAMILY allowed participants to experience the importance and diversity of this precious element in a variety of ways.
Guided tours, tastings, physical activities, family programs, and interactive stations took participants to special water sites throughout the valley. The event not only imparted knowledge but also brought it to life through personal encounters and direct experiences of nature.
The festival generated a great deal of interest. Numerous visitors from Vorarlberg, as well as from beyond the state and national borders, attended the events. Several program items were already sold out in advance. At the highlight on Saturday evening—the Street Food Festival with a water show at the Almwasserpark—approximately 1,000 visitors were counted.
Sustainability also played a key role in the planning and execution of the festival. The festival raised awareness of water as a vital resource worthy of protection and, through regional offerings, fostered an appreciation for nature, the landscape, and the responsible use of water. For meeting the criteria for sustainable events, the Alpine Water Festival was awarded the “körig feschta” certificate.
Overall, the first Alpine Water Festival was a resounding success. It succeeded in bringing numerous people to the water sites of the Klostertal and in giving the element of water the attention it deserves, given its importance to nature, the local ecosystem, and the region.
