Midsummer celebration at Museum Paarhof Buacher
For centuries, solstice fires have been lit across the Alps to mark the summer solstice and the longest day of the year. As flames rise on the mountain peaks and the sky slowly darkens, a special atmosphere unfolds – between earth and sky, between tradition and the present. This ancient custom is also kept alive in Brand: One of the fires will be lit on the Mottakopf, the village’s local mountain – clearly visible from the community center Brand.
